Caroline is the first born in a family of two siblings. She lost both her parents in 2007. Her father died in March and her mother followed two months later. She was left with her step -mother as the sole provider of the family. She later moved to stay with her aunt in Oyugis town where we found her living in a very poor condition with no job and no food since her Aunt became sick. Caroline is among the secondary boarding students of Still Hope center. Her academic work is so promising and we hope she will study up university level. She likes singing and participating in drama during her leisure time. Her dream is to become a lawyer.

Stephen is the first born in a family of three, born in North Kamagak . His mother died in 2005 after a long illness of tuberculosis (TB). She left two other children with their father who is physically handicapped and cannot do any productive job. Life became very harsh for him after the death of his mother who was the bread winner of that family. Many times Stephen was diagnosed with Typhoid due to poor living conditions. His younger sister and brother are staying with his aunt in a nearby centre. He was referred to Still Hope by his school head teacher. He loves playing soccer, reading story books and singing. His career dream is to become a teacher.

Beverly is a partial orphan who was born in Homa Bay County in part of Asego that is their home land, just next to the lake. Beverly was among the first admitted to Still Hope orphanage center in Oyugis . Beverly is the first born in their family and they are three siblings. After the death of their father who was the sole provider of the family, they began a very tough life from which she was referred to Still Hope. Beverly loves the following activities: singing, reciting poems, playing football, and teaching in Sunday School. Beverly is looking forward to study through the university level.

Sylvia is the first born of three siblings in their family. Sylvia became a partial orphan after her father died two years ago as a result of HIV AIDS. After that Sylvia was left with her mother as the breadwinner of the family, but her mother had also been infected with HIV/AIDS. Due to this situation the mother could not provide basic needs for the family. Sylvia was referred to Still Hope center by their head teacher who realized that she needed help badly. Sylvia is doing well in her studies and is finally looking forward to be a lecturer.

Vera is the second born in a family four children. She lost both her father and mother in the 2011 and 2013 respectively due to HIV/AIDS. Almost all the members of her dad’s family have died including three uncles because of the same disease. Currently she’s only left with one aunt that is taking care of her other three brothers. Vera is a very intelligent young girl, well-disciplined and most importantly born again. Her dream is to become a computer engineer in the future. Vera is also praying and waiting for that person who God will use to help her reach her destiny. Currently she is a resident at Still Hope Centre. She likes athletics, playing netball and singing.

Verah is the second born in a family of seven siblings. She is not an orphan but a very needy and vulnerable young girl, the daughter of one of the volunteers’ pastors at Still Hope Center. Both the parents are jobless and just peasant farmers. She was referred to the Centrer by one of the spiritual leaders in our church. Her dream is to become a teacher when she grows up. She likes singing, playing netball and fetching water. Her prayer is to find someone who can help her reach her destiny.

Sharon is the first born child in a family of four children. She lost her father who was the bread winner of the family several years ago when she was a little girl. They were then left under the guardianship of her mother who been sickly since their father went to be with the Lord. Sharon is very much disciplined, ambitious, and with vision. Her dream is to become a lawyer when she grows up. She likes reciting poems and singing and playing netball. Sharon is trusting God for her sponsor to make her dream a reality.
