Sharon is the first born child in a family of four children. She lost her father who was the bread winner of the family several years ago when she was a little girl. They were then left under the guardianship of her mother who been sickly since their father went to be with the Lord. Sharon is very much disciplined, ambitious, and with vision. Her dream is to become a lawyer when she grows up. She likes reciting poems and singing and playing netball. Sharon is trusting God for her sponsor to make her dream a reality.

Sharon is the last born in a family of three siblings. She is in primary grade Eight at Rawinji primary school. She lost her mother in 2010 when she was a small kid. Years later her got very sick and became mentally incapacitated. His father became very wild to an extent he couldn’t interact with anyone. He burnt to ashes his home with everything in it. Sharon and his brothers were rescued by the neighbors who heard the commotion and the cry. Since then Sharon has been under the guardianship of her grandmother who a widow and too old to provide for herself. Sharon was referred to Still hope by the principle of her school who had noticed her challenges. She is an average student with ability to do much better given and opportunity. She praying to get a sponsor who will support her to achieve her dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up. She likes singing and playing netball.

Sheila was born out of wedlock in December 2011. Her late mother dropped out of school on primary grade six. She developed a serious complication after giving birth to Sheila and later died in October 2013. Since then Sheila has been leaving under the guardianship of elderly grandmother who is an old widow has an on and off sickness. Sheila is a very jovial bright girl who loves singing and dancing. Her dream is to become a teacher one day. She is trusting God for a sponsor who would help her achieve her dream of becoming a teacher.

Sheila is the second born in a family of three children. Her father died in 2011 due to malaria and chest pain leaving the children with their mother. Later their mother abandoned them in the hands of their 70 year old grandmother who couldn’t provide for them even the basic needs. On visiting them at their home we realized that they had no proper food or medical attention. They had rashes all over their body due to poor living conditions and hygiene. They were referred to Still Hope by a local government official of the area (Chief). Sheila likes singing, reading and dancing. Her dream is to become a lawyer when she grows up.

Sheryl is the first born in family of two whose father died when she was very young. She told us that the family of their father did not want their mother, after some period their uncles sent them and their mother away. They left home and came to the streets. They found an old abandoned house in the street where they took shelter, but after a while the mother got very sick. They had no money to treat her and that’s when she and her brother Jeff went to the streets to beg for food and money. Life became so harsh on them when their sick mother disappeared and abandoned them on the streets. To date they still don’t know the whereabouts of their mother. One day they came across a widow called Nereah who had sympathy on them and brought them to still hope. Sheryl loves singing, fetching water and reading story books; she also plays soccer. Her desire is to study hard in school to become a nurse when she grows up.

His mother who is HIV/Aids positive is seriously sick and unable to take care of her family. Solomon has been living under the guardianship of his grandmother. He scored very good marks last year but could not join the high school of his merit because no one would pay for him school fees. So he decided to join a nearby day school whose standard is not very good. He had accumulated areas in the first and he was contemplating dropping out when schools resume in January next year. He is so talented in writing songs and singing, he is also a very good bible teacher and a footballer. His dream is to become a chemical Engineer or a lawyer one day. Her mother has struggled to raise them up and take them to school despite the fact that she was just a peasant farmer. In 2017 her mother became very sick and was admitted to the hospital later on she tested HIV positive. From that moment she has been having an on and off disease which has kept her in bed throughout Since then she has not been able to provide well for her family. Stacy’s dream is to become a high school teacher when she grows up. She was referred to us by the local government offer, also known as the chief. She likes singing in Church, playing both soccer and netball. She’s trusting God for a destiny helper.

Stephen is the first born in a family of three, born in North Kamagak . His mother died in 2005 after a long illness of tuberculosis (TB). She left two other children with their father who is physically handicapped and cannot do any productive job. Life became very harsh for him after the death of his mother who was the bread winner of that family. Many times Stephen was diagnosed with Typhoid due to poor living conditions. His younger sister and brother are staying with his aunt in a nearby centre. He was referred to Still Hope by his school head teacher. He loves playing soccer, reading story books and singing. His career dream is to become a teacher.

Currently he is staying under the care of his step – mother who is also a widow and a peasant farmer. He is an average student and so talented in playing soccer ball. His dream is to become a mechanical engineer when he grows up. He also loves singing in Church and character wise, he a very quiet boy. His prayer is to get someone who will hold his hands to his destiny by supporting his education and other basic needs.
