Since then, he has been brought up under the guardianship of his mother who is a widow and very poor. Ezekiel is the last born in a family of seven siblings. He is a very hard-working bright boy and very disciplined. He was referred to Still Hope by an officer from the Children department and his school head teacher. His dream is to become an aeronautical engineer when he grows up. He likes reading, singing and reciting poems. John is a partial orphan living under the guardianship of his mother who is sick and also drug addict. He joined still hope 7 years ago. His father died due to HIV/AIDS in 2003 when he was only three years old. We found Kirkwood in a very pathetic situation with no one to take good care of him. Even getting a daily meal according to him would come by chance. In most cases he used ask for food from the neighborhood. His mother drinks too much that she doesn’t care about him anymore. He was referred to still hope by their school head teacher who is a friend to still hope. Currently he’s in Form three at Saye Boys High School. Kirkwood's dream is to become a great teacher like his late father. He loves playing soccer, singing and reading story books. He’s also trusting God for a sponsor.

Meldah is the last born in a family of ten children. Her mother died when she was two years old. Her father is a very poor peasant farmer. Out their ten siblings four of them also have died in different situations. Their living condition is even worse than some orphans despite having a father. She joined Still hope 6 years ago and she is still trusting God to get a sponsor. Melda is a very bright young girl and she is always position one in her class with the best score. She is a very quiet girl but with a very sharp IQ. She says, one day she wants to be a doctor to treat many sick people in her village. She likes reading and praying and singing too.

Bradox was left with his mother who is just a peasant farmer and she cannot produce enough to sustain her family. He was referred to us through their area chief who knows the Still Hope center and its humanitarian care for vulnerable children. Bradox is among the home based children in our center, He is doing well in his studies and he would like to be a journalist after his studies. He loves playing soccer during his leisure time.

Redemptar is the 5th born in a family of six children. She joined Still hope 6 years ago. She has just finished high school and now waiting to join college in Feb 2023. Her father who was the sole bread winner of the family passed on in the year 2015 leaving her and her mother in a very poor condition. Her mother, Domtila Anyango who is also HIV positive has been struggling to provide for her family by burning charcoal and selling firewood despite her poor health. Her dream is to work hard and become a civil engineer in future. She likes playing net ball and field events such as short put and javelin. She is a God-fearing young girl with very promising results at school. She is trusting God for a sponsor who can support her in her education and other needs as the Lord shall provide.

Her parents’ names are Monica Okoyo and Peter Okoyo. Her father passed away on 23th February 2004 the same year she was born. It was so unfortunate that she didn’t see her father. Her mother is a peasant farmer living in a very small piece of Land with her children. Many a times she goes to look for a job in the village such as house maid, digging and fetching water for people in order to put food on the table. Since she joined Still hope she became the first child in her family ever to join high and now to university. Currently she is a first-year student at Kenyatta University taking bachelor of Mass Communication and Journalism. Lizzy is a born-again girl and well disciplined. She likes playing soccer ball and singing in the church. Her prayer is to get a sponsor who can support her through her education and other needs.
