Meldah is the last born in a family of ten children. Her mother died when she was two years old. Her father is a very poor peasant farmer. Out their ten siblings four of them also have died in different situations. Their living condition is even worse than some orphans despite having a father. She joined Still hope 6 years ago and she is still trusting God to get a sponsor. Melda is a very bright young girl and she is always position one in her class with the best score. She is a very quiet girl but with a very sharp IQ. She says, one day she wants to be a doctor to treat many sick people in her village. She likes reading and praying and singing too.

Maxwel is a pupil at Aramo Primary school in grade four. He was born out of wedlock then later abandoned by his mother who dropped out of school in grade 8 when she conceived a baby. In 2016 his mother was found died in the streets of Kisumu. His father was never known. Since then he has been under the guardianship and care of his old grandmother who is very sick. He is trusting God for an opportunity to be supported in his education and his basic needs. He was referred to Still Hope by the local government official known as the chief. He polite and well-disciplined boy. He also loves playing soccer.

Mary is a total orphan who was living in the streets of Oyugis town. She lost both her parents in the year 2010 due to HIV/AIDS. She was found in the streets by a widow called Florence Anyango who took her as her own child. She took her to school and provided her with clothes, food, and shelter. Sadly, Florence also died last year leaving Mary with no one to help her. She was referred to Still Hope orphanage home by her school headmistress Madam Rebecca. She is a very bright girl who has been at the top of her class. Her dream is to become an engineer in the future. Above all she is born again, and loves singing and reading.

About a year ago the guardian had brain surgery unfortunately she suffered a stroke on her right side. She is currently bedridden and unable to provide for the family. Mary likes singing and dancing. Lydia is the second born in a family of four. She was made a total orphan after the death of her parents who died of HIV/AIDS in the year 2006 and 2011 respectively. Due to that situation, Lydia and her four siblings were left vulnerable without anybody to take care of them. That is when she was referred to us by their head teacher who was aware of Still Hope. She is among the residential children of Still Hope center. In her academic work she is also among the best and she is looking forward to be a nurse at the end of her studies. She likes singing, playing volleyball and reading story books.

Lovine is the fourth born in a family of four siblings. She became a partial orphan after the death of her father who died in the year 20002. Due to that they were left with their mother as the sole provider of the family needs. Her mother is only doing small scale farming which cannot support or sustain the family needs. Lovine was referred to Still Hope through their chief who is the local government administrator of area where the center is situated. Lovine is doing well in her academic work. She loves singing and playing hopscotch with her fellows, and she hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.

Two years later the mother contracted HIV and Aids virus and died afterwards. After his mother’s death he was left in a lonely world with no brother, no uncle, no father, no grandmother nor grandmother. Walter Otieno, a Good Samaritan, found him so desperate and brought him to Still Hope orphanage. Lonny is a bright boy who loves playing soccer, singing and dancing. His dream is to become a doctor when he grows up.
