Beverly is a partial orphan who was born in Homa Bay County in part of Asego that is their home land, just next to the lake. Beverly was among the first admitted to Still Hope orphanage center in Oyugis . Beverly is the first born in their family and they are three siblings. After the death of their father who was the sole provider of the family, they began a very tough life from which she was referred to Still Hope. Beverly loves the following activities: singing, reciting poems, playing football, and teaching in Sunday School. Beverly is looking forward to study through the university level.

Emmanuel Junior is the first born in their family, the only child. His father passed away when he was 2 years old after a prolonged illness. He was then left under the care of his mother who was very sick and then died in Oct of 2017. He was among the first children who were admitted at Still Hope in October 2014 due to the condition of his mother. He’s one of brightest kids at Still Hope who always is tops in his class. He loves reading, singing to God and is the best soccer player at Still Hope. His dream is to become a lawyer when he grows up.

Sylvia is the first born of three siblings in their family. Sylvia became a partial orphan after her father died two years ago as a result of HIV AIDS. After that Sylvia was left with her mother as the breadwinner of the family, but her mother had also been infected with HIV/AIDS. Due to this situation the mother could not provide basic needs for the family. Sylvia was referred to Still Hope center by their head teacher who realized that she needed help badly. Sylvia is doing well in her studies and is finally looking forward to be a lecturer.

Vera is the second born in a family four children. She lost both her father and mother in the 2011 and 2013 respectively due to HIV/AIDS. Almost all the members of her dad’s family have died including three uncles because of the same disease. Currently she’s only left with one aunt that is taking care of her other three brothers. Vera is a very intelligent young girl, well-disciplined and most importantly born again. Her dream is to become a computer engineer in the future. Vera is also praying and waiting for that person who God will use to help her reach her destiny. Currently she is a resident at Still Hope Centre. She likes athletics, playing netball and singing.

Lydia is the second born in a family of four. She was made a total orphan after the death of her parents who died of HIV/AIDS in the year 2006 and 2011 respectively. Due to that situation, Lydia and her four siblings were left vulnerable without anybody to take care of them. That is when she was referred to us by their head teacher who was aware of Still Hope. She is among the residential children of Still Hope center. In her academic work she is also among the best and she is looking forward to be a nurse at the end of her studies. She likes singing, playing volleyball and reading story books.

Laura is the second born in a family of three siblings. She became a partial orphan after the death of her father who died in 2004. Since then they were left in the hands of their mother as a peasant family. When we visited Laura and her family we had compassion on her due to their poor living conditions. She was referred to us by a pastor who was aware of Still Hope. She is now among the residential children in Still Hope center. In her academic work she is doing well and she is among the best and she is looking forward to be a judge at the end of her final studies. She loves singing, acting, drama in school and reading the Bible.

Mary is a total orphan who was living in the streets of Oyugis town. She lost both her parents in the year 2010 due to HIV/AIDS. She was found in the streets by a widow called Florence Anyango who took her as her own child. She took her to school and provided her with clothes, food, and shelter. Sadly, Florence also died last year leaving Mary with no one to help her. She was referred to Still Hope orphanage home by her school headmistress Madam Rebecca. She is a very bright girl who has been at the top of her class. Her dream is to become an engineer in the future. Above all she is born again, and loves singing and reading.
