Two years later the mother contracted HIV and Aids virus and died afterwards. After his mother’s death he was left in a lonely world with no brother, no uncle, no father, no grandmother nor grandmother. Walter Otieno, a Good Samaritan, found him so desperate and brought him to Still Hope orphanage. Lonny is a bright boy who loves playing soccer, singing and dancing. His dream is to become a doctor when he grows up.

Emmanuel is a total orphan who has been living under the care of her grandmother, Rebecca. He is the second last born in a family of 5 children. His three older siblings finished primary school but they couldn’t proceed to high school because their grandmother could not afford to pay their school fees. The grandmother is just a peasant farmer who works for people on their farms to put food on the table. Emmanuel is trusting God to get someone who supports him to achieve his dreams of becoming an electrical engineer. He's a well-behaved God-fearing boy with great potential. He’s a gifted soccer player and he also likes singing. Any help towards Emmanuel will be highly appreciated.

Emmanuel Junior is the first born in their family, the only child. His father passed away when he was 2 years old after a prolonged illness. He was then left under the care of his mother who was very sick and then died in Oct of 2017. He was among the first children who were admitted at Still Hope in October 2014 due to the condition of his mother. He’s one of brightest kids at Still Hope who always is tops in his class. He loves reading, singing to God and is the best soccer player at Still Hope. His dream is to become a lawyer when he grows up.

Redemptar is the 5th born in a family of six children. She joined Still hope 6 years ago. She has just finished high school and now waiting to join college in Feb 2023. Her father who was the sole bread winner of the family passed on in the year 2015 leaving her and her mother in a very poor condition. Her mother, Domtila Anyango who is also HIV positive has been struggling to provide for her family by burning charcoal and selling firewood despite her poor health. Her dream is to work hard and become a civil engineer in future. She likes playing net ball and field events such as short put and javelin. She is a God-fearing young girl with very promising results at school. She is trusting God for a sponsor who can support her in her education and other needs as the Lord shall provide.

She is the last born in a family of 9 siblings, 5 boys and 4 girls but none of them has a job. Most of them dropped out of school because no one could pay their school fees. Her parents’ names are Monica Okoyo and Peter Okoyo. Her father passed away on 23th February 2004 the same year she was born. It was so unfortunate that she didn’t see her father. Her mother is a peasant farmer living in a very small piece of Land with her children. Many a times she goes to look for a job in the village such as house maid, digging and fetching water for people in order to put food on the table. Since she joined Still hope she became the first child in her family ever to join high and now to university. Currently she is a first-year student at Kenyatta University taking bachelor of Mass Communication and Journalism. Lizzy is a born-again girl and well disciplined. She likes playing soccer ball and singing in the church. Her prayer is to get a sponsor who can support her through her education and other needs.

Dorothy is the first born in a family of three siblings. She is a partial orphan. Her father died in the year 2009 when she was a young kid. She was left with her mother who was sickling and could not provide for the family needs well, due to that situation. Dorothy became very sick when she was young that she could start school at the right time. she was referred to us by their church pastor who was aware of still hope and its care to the vulnerable children. Dorothy has just finished primary school and she is now waiting to join high school in February 2023.Her dream is to become a teacher one day so that she can also impact knowledge especially to vulnerable children in her community. she loves singing and athletic during her leisure time.

His dream is to become a mechanical engineer when he grows up. He also loves singing in Church and character wise, he a very quiet boy. Caroline is the first born in a family of two siblings. She lost both her parents in 2007. Her father died in March and her mother followed two months later. She was left with her step -mother as the sole provider of the family. She later moved to stay with her aunt in Oyugis town where we found her living in a very poor condition with no job and no food since her Aunt became sick. Caroline is among the secondary boarding students of Still Hope center. Her academic work is so promising and we hope she will study up university level. She likes singing and participating in drama during her leisure time. Her dream is to become a lawyer.

Sheryl is the first born in family of two whose father died when she was very young. She told us that the family of their father did not want their mother, after some period their uncles sent them and their mother away. They left home and came to the streets. They found an old abandoned house in the street where they took shelter, but after a while the mother got very sick. They had no money to treat her and that’s when she and her brother Jeff went to the streets to beg for food and money. Life became so harsh on them when their sick mother disappeared and abandoned them on the streets. To date they still don’t know the whereabouts of their mother. One day they came across a widow called Nereah who had sympathy on them and brought them to still hope. Sheryl loves singing, fetching water and reading story books; she also plays soccer. Her desire is to study hard in school to become a nurse when she grows up.

Sharon is the last born in a family of three siblings. She is in primary grade Eight at Rawinji primary school. She lost her mother in 2010 when she was a small kid. Years later her got very sick and became mentally incapacitated. His father became very wild to an extent he couldn’t interact with anyone. He burnt to ashes his home with everything in it. Sharon and his brothers were rescued by the neighbors who heard the commotion and the cry. Since then Sharon has been under the guardianship of her grandmother who a widow and too old to provide for herself. Sharon was referred to Still hope by the principle of her school who had noticed her challenges. She is an average student with ability to do much better given and opportunity. She praying to get a sponsor who will support her to achieve her dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up. She likes singing and playing netball.
